Nearly Two Centuries
of Service & Tradition
Somerville Lodge No. 73, Free and Accepted Masons, was chartered in 1837 — making it one of the oldest fraternal organizations in Northwest Tennessee. Founded by a small group of men who saw in Freemasonry a path toward moral development and community betterment, the lodge has weathered wars, economic upheavals, and social transformations while holding fast to its founding principles.
Over the decades, the lodge has been a quiet force for good in Somerville: funding scholarships for local students, supporting families in need, and maintaining the historic character of a community built on integrity and mutual support. The lodge hall on West Market Street has served as both a meeting place and a landmark — a building where generations have gathered to strengthen bonds of brotherhood.
Today, Somerville #73 continues that legacy. While the world around us changes rapidly, the lodge remains committed to the same values its founders championed: charity, truth, and fellowship.
